Literature Text

Many years later, Jack saw a distant beam of silver light from his deathbed...

Never before in his life, Jack had the chance to see something as beautiful and pure as that light.

A single pristine tear fell down his cheek as a bittersweet smile was drawn on his face:

He was perfectly able to hear a familiar voice calling him, caressing his soul with one simple word:

"Jack..."

Nobody else was able to hear that voice...Only Jack.

Despite his age, the old warrior was still able to make a last effort, and extended his right hand towards the silver light, which was invisble to the other people around his deathbead. He wanted to go there, and left everything else behind.

The person he loved more than anything in the world...That most wonderful person he had ever met in his entire life was waiting for him beyond the light.

"Please...Wait for me..." Whispered, Jack with his last breath. "Wait for me, love. I will go back to you, at least...Back to your arms...The place where I truly belong."

Those were his last words.

The old warrior died, surrounded by his family and friends, who never were able to understand the true meaning of those words. But they mourned the death of their beloved friend and hero...Jack, the bravest warrior the world ever knew.

Their only consolation was a vague certainty inside their hearts...That the Samurai was finally in peace.

And somewhere, beyond the silver beam of light, Jack met that person that was waiting for him, all this time...Who had been watching over his soul during many years...The person he loved more than anything in this world...

"Jack..." said once again the gentle voice, welcoming the soul of the warrior, who embraced his beloved one with tears of joy in his face.

Despite their tragic separation...Their souls were always destined to be together in the eternity...

"Oh, Jim..." said Jack, as he kissed Jim Davis in the glory of the cosmos, surrounded by billions of stars glowing like diamonds. "Oh, Jim!"

"Please, Jack..." davis replied, with a beatific smile on his radiant face. ""Don't say anything. Just hold me in your arms, Jack. And kiss again."

And Jack and Jim kissed once again, living forever that moment of infinite happiness, as an endless testimony of their respective existences in our world.
